WISDOM: “Woodfuel Integrated Supply/Demand Overview Mapping”
Summary:Spatial-explicit method for highlighting and determining priority areas of intervention and supporting wood energy / bioenergy planning and policy formulation.
Main objective:Supports strategic planning and policy formulation, through the spatial integration and analysis of existing demand- and supply-related information and indicators, and by modeling access patterns to supply sources. It provides relative/qualitative values such as risk zoning or criticality ranking, highlighting, at the highest possible spatial detail, the areas deserving urgent attention and, if needed, additional data collection. In other words, WISDOM serves as an ASSESSING and STRATEGIC PLANNING tool to identify priority places for action

BioTrade2020+: European Bioenergy Trade Strategy
Summary:The tool provides a web-based, easy to use, interactive map, fully adapted to the main end-user requirements. The maps provide optimal support to end- users to identify the best compromise solutions taking into account the sustainability and competitiveness of exogenous biomass in their day-to-day actions.
Main objective:The main aim of BioTrade2020plus is to provide guidelines for the development of a European Bioenergy Trade Strategy for 2020 and beyond. It should ensure that imported biomass feedstock is sustainably sourced and used in an efficient way, while avoiding distortion of other markets. This has been accomplished by analyzing the potentials and key sustainability risks of current and future lignocellulosic biomass and bioenergy carriers. Focus is on lignocellulosic biomass (forest biomass and agricultural residues) from current and potential future major sourcing regions of the world (US, Ukraine, Colombia, Brazil, Indonesia and Kenya ).
