Firstly, the user will need to select the type of biomass resource. Five biomass resources are considered:

  • R1. Agricultural resources
  • R2. Forestry resources
  • R3. Agro-industrial resources
  • R4. Biomass from urban parks and gardens management
  • R5. Wet biomass

After clicking in the resource type, a set of 5 questions will depicted. The user will need to select the answer that best applies to his case.

Secondly, the user should select the activity he intends to implement. 14 different activities are reflected in the self-assessment tool.

Four different categories are then examined for each activity, namely:

  • User engagement
  • Technical solution maturity
  • Business and financial solution maturity
  • Social and environmental impact

In this context, each category examined entails a series of 3-5 multiple-choice type questions.

Recommended actions will appear when the user has answered all questions related to the category according to the selected answer, a score will be assigned depending on the option chosen.

Outcomes are depicted in a graphic way by means of a spider-net. Tool’s outputs can also be downloaded together with all the questions, answers selected by the user and the recommendations indicated.
